VIDEO PROJECT

A short about the longing for freedom and the anchor of family.

‘HOME’ is a short film expressing the longing for freedom through the lens of an anchored soul. It is about finding a way out of the repetition but not being able to go far enough. The pandemic has had a profound impact on the world and the restrictions on gatherings and social distancing measures have taken a toll. While we are lucky to be healthy and together, I can't help but miss my friends and the normality of everyday life. Not being able to touch those closest. The overthinking eventually gets to you.

With everything titled 'stay HOME; save lives' you can't help but feel guilty for wanting to tempt fate. We do what we can, we try and save lives by doing nothing or barely something.

3min Edit.

A very short but different take on the graduation process of University.

‘Scientia Manu et Pecunia’ is a way of expressing students' frustration and disappointment in a university that has done nothing (literally) but churn out students like they are a finished product on an assembly line. I wanted to work on this project because it (to an extent) summed up my own frustrations of the current climate at UNSW. While this was the creative vision of Zac, I was more than happy to take a step back and work as the producer on this piece.

It was made extremely difficult to do any meaningful work as the restrictions on social gatherings came into place to stem the spread of the Covid-19 virus. We kept our distance as best as we could and we shot as much as we could. If we could've reshot this at a later date when everything has calmed down, we would've. But with all that being said, I really enjoyed watching the final version. Very menacing, just like uni.

Enjoy.

BLITZ

Aaaaand that's a wrap!
We're finally at the end of term but there's still stuff on campus for you to catch up with friends at (hopefully you don't have as hard of a time as Lachlan and Mark here...)

Brought to you by Blitz. Find out what's on and keep up with UNSW content at arc.unsw.edu.au/blitz

Kevin, Mark, and Johnson get real and give their thoughts on Todd Phillip's latest movie, Joker (2019), starring Joaquin Pheonix. They talk about the amazing performances, Scorsese influences, and their reactions to the brutally dark themes of the film. Listen in on Spotify now!

Fortunately, though, Arc offers some pretty damn good online workshops on Adulting, from everything from LinkedIn, Interview skills, Centrelink, to personal finances, health and fitness, and even planning your own party!
